CORE was founded in 1992 by a group of young
engineers as a technical support providing company. The company
extended its services to a number of computer vendors at that
time. In January 1993, the company came up with the first
computer magazine of Nepal - CORE Computer Magazine. This
bimonthly magazine aimed at providing awareness to the people of
Nepal. A fortnightly tabloid CORExpress was started in
1996, and both of these were merged as CORExpress Computer Magazine
in 1998. This magazine is reputed as the first and the only
surviving computer magazine for such a long time.
In 1999, the company unveiled its carpet designing software, Galaincha, as the result of
its three years of research and development effort. This software
has been widely accepted in the carpet industry not only to
enhance the efficiency and productivity, but also as a tool with
limitless possibilities for getting more business.
The company entered into the twenty first century by
establishing its own computer hardware and peripherals supply
unit with many of the renowned brands like LG, JetWay, Canopus,
SamSung, Agfa, Lexmark, etc.
An audio visual and home appliances showroom was launched in
2001 to keep pace with the rapidly changing need and aspirations
of the people of Nepal. The showroom has already owned the most
rapidly selling outlet reward within six months of its
establishment.
CORE foresees to play an even more active role in endeavors
towards development of ICT in the country and improving the ICT
literacy among the general public in the future to come.
